What Should We Talk About Today?

Where should I start? For the past few days we really haven't been doing anything in Mrs. Garbers class. We had a substitute on Friday when we took or Westward Migration and Wizard of oz test, Which by the way was pretty hard. Then On monday we played a game in groups. The game was kind of fun if you ask me. It symbolized manufacturing companies and how if they produced less the would be saving and making money at the same time. We played it about six times. I swear every single round except for round five we all was broke. I mean straight bankrupt. I don't know what else to talk about so i am going to talk about the issues of the world for the remainder of the blog.
Let's talk about Obama shall we. Wellhe is about to take office in a few more weeks. January 20th to be exact. I honestly think he will do pretty good. Now what i really want to talk about is how the Governor of Illinois Rod Blegojevich tried to sell Obama senate seat to the highest bider. I thought that was rude when i first heard it on the news. It shows that he had no type of respect for Obama or anybody else that was senators. All he cared about was his and his wifes well being. Right now the news is calling the scandal a corruption crime spree and i agree because that is exactly what it is. Though he did get arrested and thats what he deserved.
No how about that Military plane that crashed in San Deigo California. It crashed into a korean mans house killing his wife, two young daughters and his mother in law. I feel really sorry for him. Wouldn't you. Just Imagine if something like that happened to you. I mean this man lost his entire family. Two innocent young children are gone. The Military honestly needs to work on there aircraft so that nothing this tradgic ever happens again. Life is too short and anything can happen to anybody. We may be young but death doesnt skip us. It happens every day to teens our age.
What do you have to say about all these police officers that have been getting killed. One killing happened in October And in December. People are really crazy now a days. I don't know what all the violence is for. Why do people waste their lifes just to out run the law. The officer in October dies for gun violence. Then the one in November died because a man ran a red light because he was running from the cops. The police are there to do their job and some people dont accept that. When is it going to stop?
Last but certainly not least, how about the state we live in? Is it me or has our crime rate went up. People is being taken for ransom, getting robbed, being held hostage and the worse is killed. Pennsylvania is rubbing off on this state big time. Especially the six young men that has been robbing oriental people. They sit there and follow them to work, follow them home and rob them in their own facility. Thats crazy. Lucky the got caught but not all of them though. The cops are still trying to find others that are linked to these crimes. So basically i watch the news if you didn't figure that out by now. Even though there is nothing but bad news on the news beside the weather you should watch it because you could learn a lot especially when there isnt anything else to blog about. :)

The Wild Wild Westerners and Africans

Back in the mid 1800's people loved to move in the west. Especially Native Americans. Regular Southerners were there but the Native Americans kicked them out slowly. The Native Americans took over the West and the West was there territory. They ruled everything. Whoever posed a threat to the Native Americans was killed. No matter what happened the Native Americans stuck by each other and were very loyal to eachother.
Native Americans in the west lived in tei pei's and slept around fires. They used buffalo for everything and anything you can think of. They used buffalo for clothes, food, blankets, utencils of any kind, cook wear and different weapons. They were very intelligent also. They got where they needed to go by using carriages and horses. They spoke sioux and they also spoke english.
They really didn't really like other races especially americans. They wanted to be like Americans even though they had knowldege like them but they envied them anyway. They were even slaves at a point in time.
Now Africans on the other hand were similar to the Native Americans. The stuck by eachother also. They used a lot of differnet animals to provide food, clothes, shelter, and weapons for themselves. Africans had huts that they slept in. They to fought for there terrioritory. Just like the Native Americans the fought for there territory no matter what. The didn't have problems with different races but certain ones were not to fond of whites becuase whites enslaved them. Though the Africans were very good people.
The Africans spoke french and french was there only language. Africans were not the smartest because they didn't have teachers to teach them like the whites or the Native Americans. Africans tought eachother. They built there own schools and had the smartest Africans teach them. Africans got arocund by traveling on foot. They didn't have carriages or horses like Native Americans or whites. Though Africans still did what they needed to do as a nation.
So as you can see Native Americans and Africans had alot in common. Then they had a lot of things differnt about themselves. either way the were two good nations who fought for there territory no matter what and until this day they are still remembered. They are also still here.

Now that's jsut more than unfair.

Well Amendment 13 is very interesting. It states that all people that were born in the united states, naturalized or are citizens of the united states have the right to life liberty and the pusrsuit of happiness and no one can take that privilege from them. That is in the first paragraph. It states it clear as day. So why weren't blacks allowed to vote huh? Why did they have to fight for their right to vote and the right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness?
The constitution was created on July 6 1776 and was ratified in 1789. Why did it take so long for blacks to get the right to vote. In my eyes everyone is equal. It wasn't until the mid 1950's when blacks actually got the right to vote. That just wasn't fair. How could whites be so cruel because of someones skin color.
You know what I don't get? How is that the whites back then wanted blacks and other immigrants to follow the law the rules and the constitution but they didn't follow it themselves. It wasn't just the voting either it was the fact that blacks didn't have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Blacks were slaves and were property. Black women were a white mans baby barer. Blacks were treated like trash.
Why were blacks treated so much different. Im quite sure they were born in the U.S. Naturalized here and were citizens so why did they go through what they went through. They delt with cruel and unusual punishment. Hanging was cruel burning and black was cruel. Why did they have to go through that? The 8th Amendment says no one should have to deal with cruel and unusual punishment. So what made the blacks different from any normal person. Were they not human. Come on now.
Listen blacks back then were no different from whites. We all have the same things in our body. Everyones blood is red. So no one is different. The blacks fought to get this world at the stand point it is at today. Though it still wasn't fair for blacks to have to go through what they went through. It kind of reminds me of Barack Obama and what he goes through every day. People treat him different and sterotype because he is a black guy running for president. News flash just because he is black doesn't mean he can't turn this world around. I here it everyday, quote " Obama is going to get assaisinated if he gets elected." What type of stuff is that to say. What goes around normally I must say, comes around.

History

In history we dicuss a lot of different topics such as the civil war,
slavery, the differenty battles such as Gettysburg,Vicksburg etc. and
the differences between the North and the South. We also discuss
politics and the different things that are going on between Barack Obama and John Mcain. Starting off with the civil war. When we discuss the civil war it feels like im really there. It is really exciting. We discuss that the Civil wars outbreak was because of a 3/5 clause and silent endorsements. We talk about the Emancipation Proclamation which was born on January 1st 1863. The Emancipation proclamation freed the slaves in a lot of rebelious states. We talk about how some states didn't really recognize the governments power. In class we also talk about how the North is stronger then the South. We learn that the North was bigger and that it had more workers, manufacturing companies, wepons and transportation. Then we learn that the South had a higher morale and that it had more farm acreage. We also discuss the weaknesses of both the North and the South. Like for example the South had a lot less food then the North. Then the North had less land and a lot less training then the South. We discuss the economic consequences of war in the South. When we talk about that we find out that there was crop devistation, a war by the name of Shermans March, a loss of slaves took place, destruction of property and other things like that. There was shifts in labor for the South. Tjen we talk about the economic
consequences of the North. They too had destruction of property, population losses, and lack of jobs for their people. Then it gets kind of fun when Mrs. G does the different impressions of governers like Sarah Palin, John Mc Cain, And George Bush. we discuss and go over a lot of different things. These things aren't just in the old ancient days but they are in the present also. So we have fun and what we talk about helps our knowledge expand.
